Formerly Mint Sabbath, Genesis awoke one day in a lab owned by the demon Vazar, who was working on a project that created artificial Grim Reapers to work for him. She was the only project out of hundreds to even open her eyes for the first time, however she was far less powerful than her creator desired, as well as the fact that she remembered her previous life as Mint and grew her own conscious, thus she was labeled a failure. Nevertheless, she was trained to carry out the job she was made to do.

The body that Genesis was reborn in looks to be biologically female. However, she has no reproductive organs.

According to Fayd, Genesis's voice is deep enough that Fayd wasn't sure if the person on the other end was male or female. Until they meet in person, Fayd believed that Genesis is a man.

Genesis is disheartened to hear this when they meet, but Fayd reassures that she doesn't care because she fell in love with Genesis's mind and personality, not her body. (And then admits that she does still find Genesis attractive nonetheless.)
