When they were 14 they couldn't stand living as a girl and a teen in their position. Their family was fine, they had friends and weren't doing that bad in school. But coming out was too much. They couldn't take the pressure,and suddenly had an idea. The idea stemmed from a TV show where a girl fakes her death to restart her image. It was a crap TV how, but teens are teens and Cameron enjoyed it. Finally, they decided to replicate the "death" of the show, before coming out to their family. They met Jark the same year. He was very respectful at the time, and he wooed them to give him "A Favor".
He had everyhing Cameron needed, and just having run away, they were desperate.
He had them steal a couple of things, from different peope but they realized it was actually the same person by finding the purple necklace at each location. Finally, he got them to kill the person. They stole their necklace from the target as they were leaving, and it was a downward spiral from there. Cameron was already introduced to crime.

A lot of their interests are japanese, but they have actually only been to japan once. The entire assassin group went there as a "study trip" to practice their skills in unknown enviroments. They ended up not doing that much training,and more going out to eat japanese food and going sightsing. This is the trip they met Sora on as well. Cameron was the only one that didn't pick up how you hold chopsticks, but they refuse to admit it. Cameron spent a lot of time at a dojo that allowed them to be there, since Ayeden was busy recruiting Sora and the rest of the group pretty much ignored Cameron.
And that's where they learned Karate.
