The eldest child of a religious family in Kirthwaite, Yannick's had the weight of their expectations on his shoulders since a young age as he was expected to be a blessing and a "perfect" child due to their religion. He's done everything he possibly can for their approval: joining the local temple at a young age, becoming a priest, and continuing to work hard at his career there. And then he met Magus, who swept into the temple on the run and absolutely stirred up everything he knew and considered standard. Has a strained relationship with Aleksi, who doesn't seem to understand that he's trying to help, though Shir is a little more understanding. He is respectful, if cold, toward his parents, and absolutely adores Myrrine.
