Isabel Cruz was The Mechanist an accidental villain of sorts. She rebuilt an old series of Robots that weren't entirely finished before the apocalypse.
She sent them out to help people. These robots had brains as processing units, this allowed for them to think for themselves, they figured out that the best way to "Help" someone was to mercy kill them. Instead of saving people they ended up attacking them.

Jason broke into her base and told her what was going on. He agreed to help her dismantle the rest of them if she agreed to help him build cool stuff, like bikes,cars and guns.

This is a couple of years before the main plot.

In this version almost everything is the same with Isabel being the Mechanist. Jason helps her out and helps destroy the last of the Robo-Brains.

Isabel despite having made up for her mistakes still feels guilty, she sends out simpler bots to assist the commonwealth not in a combative way however. Only farming bots that cannot harm a human no matter what. She still makes weapons however and has taken up the new hobby of customizing power armour. She also builds Jason's guns and customizes his Synth helmet.

She has beef with Sinjin, because after he takes Cait's Raiders he wants Isabel's weapons. She refuses to make weapons for him, so Sinjin takes her guns anyway and then both her fore arms so she can never build again.

(Okay I know I don't do fanfics for relationships but this is subplot k?) Her and Sturges live together and he helps her design 2 new robotic arms. Over time she advances them more but now she is sick and tired of sitting around and she finishes her power armour to help Jason and Cait.

Each character represent 1 of the Four Horsemen.

Isabel is War. Isabel is surrounded by weapons all the time, she makes them, wields them and is a master of them. She built an army that could've wiped out the Commonwealth even after the loss of her hands she only proved to have mastery of war even more turning her hands into weapons.
