Charlie was the heir to a rich trading kingdom that occupied a crescent moon shaped island off the coast of a large continent.
Now he is a student of Felix who is teaching him to be a hunter (not a "hunter" in the sense humans use it as in "hunting for food" but rather hunters in the cave track down small rifts that open and anything that slips through)

He was a prince and the heir to a throne but he ran away from it. He is learning to become a hunter.

Was a prince abused by his father for being gay so he fled onto a merchants ship who he knew the son of. When the ship passed by the cave he jumped in (without caring about the outcome). Addox caught him and healed the wounds his dad gave him. Addox offered him immortality as a way to show Charlie that he wanted him to stay (this happened after Charlie had been in the cave for quite some time).

His mother had died when he was 12. He has a sister who is 4 years younger than him (Leah) and a brother who is 9 years younger. He, his sister, and his mother used to spend a lot of time together when Charlie wasn't being trained for the throne by his dad. When his mother died, his father became even more aggressive and his expectations about Charlie rose.

He had a cat that he found as a kitten when he was young. His mother was still alive at the time and had convinced his father to let him keep it. The cat loved just about everyone, as long at they were kind to Charlie and his siblings. It didn't like his dad. At all.
