Distant, doesn't really seem to like anyone other than Malin. He doesn't exactly run away or hide he just stays out of reach everyone's reach.

Regularly disappears for prolonged periods of time but always finds his way back to the circus.

he finds Malin's weird, impulsive behaviour highly fascinating and especially likes her music. He wants to see how far she can get but since they don't have an official contract he has to help her in secrecy

he has absolutely no interest in anyone but Malin unless it seems they'll be able to influence her actions or suspect he isn't a cat.

He doesn't know what will happen if Malin discovers he's a (demon type) familiar, but he's absolutely certain it won't be good despite all the evidence to dispel his worries.

He's able to use minor magic (mostly for stealth) and teleport between certain dimensions.
He's also highly skilled at planting the right things in just the right way to make people do what he wants.
Waking Malin up in the middle of the night by deciding to hunt fireflies

a selfish and stuck up little hairball who dislikes people in general and only acts for his own self-interest. He views mortals as his toys and although he will be protective of his favourite ones, the others are meant to be broken and sacrificed.
He dislikes it when someone interferes with his plans and will sulk in a corner if it doesn't work out the way he wants.

shape change: Void has a true form which only his fellow demons and devils know. his shape change ability allows him to take on the appearance of black-furred /skinned /feathered animals such as cats and ravens but also horses or wolves. Although he can take on the appearance of unicorns and other magical beasts of similar size he cannot duplicate their unique abilities or change his colour scheme.

dimension shift: he can hop between the mortal plane of Faerûn and the circles of hell a limited number of times whenever he wishes. Other dimensions require a lot more effort for him, as such he's only capable of travelling between Faerûn and another dimension than his home plane twice a day after which he can no longer use the skill until he had a good long nap.

Magic spells: most of his basic spells revolve around being sneaky or spying

1. 1/4 of the non-humanoid monsters that have been recruited to the circus had been visited by void a few days before the companies arrival.


2. He's the mascot of the circus despite his regular disappearance.


3. Rumour has it that the glowing golden eyes in the dead of night are a foreboding sign of drama or chaos. aka: if you see the longhaired black cat with golden eyes Malin can't be far behind.

the fact he's actually a demon/familiar

Malin du Val: he has a strong fondness of the bard and adores her talents and personality. Even so, he's occasionally frustrated by the ability to mess up his plans.

Naxaschirqal: he's wary of the Yuan-ti warrior as Nax seems to suspect Void isn't what he seems to be.

any other character: pawns for him to manipulate for his schemes.

Void is very old and has had many masters. Some of them were great mages who influenced the history of the world, some were fumbling students who never made it past the border of the city and the position of an assistant sorcerer. He had never taken a particular liking to any of them as they were all easy to predict and manipulate and in the end, they would (indirectly) fall by his hand.
Void met Malin when she was about 15 years old, a young and excited bard travelling the world, in a city. At this point, he still stalked the shadows in his true form. She was singing a song in a wonderfully clear voice that rang through the air. though there was no trace of magic in the song it stopped people in their tracks to listen and drew people into the square out of curiosity.
His followed her out of interest and quickly found that singing wasn't the only thing she could do. She went around town to every bar to ask for food and drinks in return for her performance and every single time she would enchant her audience in the same way whether she was singing, playing the piano or violin, or perform feeds of athleticism.
He was swiftly taken in by her talent and personality and decided to follow her around.
It wasn't until months later that he decided to approach her in his now well-known form. He never revealed his true nature to her as he believed that she would then send him away due to her dream of creating a safe heaven for the outcasts of society.

Few in the circus are aware of Void's true nature. Naxaschirqal has a strong suspicion about the cat but luckily doesn't care enough to investigate. Especially the more monstrous additions to the circus, such as Marco the Manticore, know of Voids true nature as he has occasionally done the prep work for their recruitment into the circus although he has forbidden all of them to speak even a single word of it to anyone.
