Background

Minx and Lionne came to the thieves guilt at ages twelve and thirteen, having met each other on the streets. They were rivals at first, not only stealing from others to survive but stealing from each other out of spite. Through their little rivalry, they grew used to and thus attached to one another. 

 The two began working together eventually, and it was shortly after that they met the leader of the thieves' guild. He took them in due to their abilities. The older of the two, Minx, had the ability to manipulate light, making herself and even others invisible among other things. Lionne could pass through solid objects. They were practically perfect candidates, so he took them under his wing.
As the years went by, the necessity of their closeness faded, and they became what they once were: rivals. In the beginning, it was a friendly rivalry, but once the subject of the guild leader's age came up, it was clear that one of his two girls would take his place. The both of them wanted to be the one.
As the years went by, Lionne's means of winning became sabotage. When Minx started to back down from her hostile behavior about having the guild, her need to rival her spread to everything else.
Lolo joined the guild when the girls were twenty-two and twenty-three. He was new and foreign with an ability to sprout wings- whatever kind he desired with practice. Lionne pictured herself as a busy woman, so Minx took it upon herself to show him the care and knowledge the guild leader had shown her.
He was dorky, smiled way too much, and made an awful lot of jokes. He liked to share stories about himself and examined small parts of people no one in the guild seemed to care about. He stole Minx's heart. She didn't know what to do with herself, so she just tried to act normal. It had to have been something in her body language, an extra glance his way or a rare non-competitive smirk his way that caught Lionne's attention.
Lionne taught Lolo things, and even gave him his code name, meaning "butterfly." She brought him along on expeditions and brought herself closer and closer to him until Minx was cut out.
The guild leader left his shoes for Lionne to fill and that was when the thieving got out of hand. There was a code that they followed, morals to stick to, yet Minx never stood up for them because she had to see Lolo to do it.
In the end, she packed up and left.
