When it comes to people she's clueless. She barely understands herself so other people are nightmares to understand. She has very low empathy, so understanding things she doesn't have experience with is very difficult for her. Especially romance, since she's never been romantically attracted to anyone in her life. Since she doesn't understand people, she does what she can do: fight. It helps her focus and keep getting through life; knowing she can dominate physically gives her a sense of security and control. Most people don't like her. And she is fine with that. They respect her. And that's all she cares about.

Gruff, unsociable, rather rude. She doesn't like being touched but doesn’t mind touching others and will shove around those who get in her way. If anyone tries to make her feel inadequate or challenges her she will leave them on the ground. Though she isn't very approachabe for many things, she will also listen to anything people need to say, if anyone dares talk to her, though she often doesn't know what to do about it.

She's very fit, and is skilled in starting and ending fights with her fists. If any authority gains her respect she is extremely loyal. Through a combination of intimidation and solid planning, she is able to command loyalty of those around her.

Closely guarded, not open. Will never cry in front of anyone, with the possible exception of Rune. She has a lot of issues that she still has a long way to go to work through.

When she was younger she was a complete daddy's girl. She loved her father intensely and he loved her. While other kids were learning to read, she was already finishing books grades above her own. Her father would take her out at night when he didn't have to work and teach her the constellations, telling her all the stories about them. He also taught her a lot about the Roman Empire and the rise and fall of it. (She was named after the older sister of Augustus.)
Her father enrolled in the army and was came back with a terrible case of PTSD. He abandoned his family, leaving Octavia heartbroken.
She was raised in a tough neighborhood and acts like it. Her relationship with her mother after her father left was constantly more than strained and Octavia eventually left as soon as she could. After a while she ran into Rune while she was being pursued by a vampire and the two became a team with Octavia as Rune's greatest strength and supporter. Octavia helped Rune survive the death of her sister and trained to become a great fighter, swearing for herself and Rune never to let anyone down that she cared for. When Rune recieved permission to start her own camp Octavia came too. There was no question. Rune's goal of becoming a captain of the Marked and gaining revenge for her sister's death was guarded by Octavia as her own.

Her father abandoned her after coming home with PTSD from his experiences in the Second Battle of Fallujah in the Iraq war. Before then she had looked up to him more than anyone else, now it's a reminder that she can be betrayed by anyone, her worst fear.

She had a cousin she was friends with, but they drifted apart when she moved.

Her secure hold in life. Theresa is the only (besides her brother) person she actually loves. She is sure to lock up all her emotions in front of everyone, but trusts Theresa, her only friend, enough to be vulnerable around her.
