Altough she doesn't realise it, her education has been about the same of that of someone of upper class. Her parents wanted her to have a proper education as her grandfather en her father held high statuses for the British.

Her parents have brought her up well, giving her a good education. They knew they were priviliged, but Evalyn doesn't know (small town, not too many people to realize not everyone knows how to dance and stuff). Her father never liked her having wild dreams, not really wanting her or her sister near the harbours, or fighting. Her brother, however, found it important that they knew how to defend themeselves and taught them both when their dad was gone for his work. Her mom is a bit looser, but nevertheless strict too. They made a deal that she could find her own way once she turned 19.

Once found an old book (her granddads) with Greek mythology. Started to read, but her father found out and took it away.
