One eye missing, with a thin but deep scar leading down from his eyebrow to the corner of his mouth. Another vertical scar across his lips, the same corner, just a few centimetres along. He wears an eye-patch over his missing eye, as it does wonders for intimidation.

Vengeance is his key motivation. He seeks to destroy those who have destroyed him and his life. He will not and cannot rest until his goal is reached or he dies trying.

Missing one eye. Depth perception is somewhat lacking, though he has adjusted well to the change. His field of vision has suffered, however, and he often needs to crane his neck to fully survey surroundings - this often leaves him with neck pain.
Suffers from PTSD - struggles to sleep peacefully, liable to dissociating, actively avoids reminders of the traumatic event (which sometimes includes his own house, leaving him to sleep in his car).
Also has selective mutism, likely a side-effect of his PTSD though the term "selective mutism" is used very lightly in this sense. He struggles to find his voice in situations with unknown and untrusted individuals.

Very much the strong, silent type. Dutiful, resourceful and deadly efficient.

Cato doesn't have many hobbies anymore. However, he does enjoy caring for his houseplants and training Anubis.

Cato is fundamentally wary of anyone he comes across. Generally distrustful, forming meaningful relationships is something he struggles with.
His depth perception isn't the best.
He is quite judgemental, while it is never voiced, and often takes his first impressions (which can be so much as an opinion gathered from a first glance) very seriously. He holds his assumptions as truth until proven false.
Cannot talk about emotions to save his life. Despite his own being very turbulent and strong, he is quite incapable of easily or comfortably expressing them, at least verbally.
Also struggles with initiating interaction or showing any kind of affection to those he cares about, as he is liable to come off as callous and cold. It's almost dorky, in nature, as it stems from him being generally awkward.

Cato has a lot of repetitive behaviours, stemming from nervousness or feeling on edge. Some of the most common behaviours are bouncing his leg restlessly when sat, fumbling with the clasp of his watch and obsessively unloading and taking his gun apart, as if he were to clean it, then reassembling it and reloading. Sometimes, he will repeatedly clean the weapon while doing this.

The latter is most commonly done at home, where he feels safe enough to be unarmed for the most part.

His speech, if you are lucky enough to hear it, is often very direct. He tries not to dance around with his words, being incredibly curt and to the point. If you happened to become someone he trusts deeply enough to actually speak freely with, you would be able to notice a very steady vocal cadence, akin to the rolling rhythm of a horse's 4-beat gait.

Previously worked on the right side of the law as a Principal Protection Officer.

After the incident, he was discharged from work. However, this wasn't good enough for him. Now he works as a hired gun, in hopes of coming across information that will lead him to those responsible for disfiguring him and tearing his family apart.

Cato's life was nothing extraordinary to begin with. Growing up confident and level headed, he was a good student, and grew up to be an even better police officer. He married somewhat young to a high school sweetheart, eventually having a daughter with her.

His merits as an officer allowed him the opportunity to become a principal protection officer to important figures.

This singled him out as a target, resulting in him, one day, being kidnapped and tortured for the sake of gathering intel. This is where he lost his eye, and his face was disfigured.

During this, his daughter was also kidnapped. This caused a rift to form between him and his wife.

Severely afflicted by these events, Cato changed. PTSD and selective mutism plagued him. He became hellbent on revenge, and his morality became more grey and less strongly set than it was previously. His change in character only further pushed his wife away, making her move away and advising him to seek help.

Being discharged from his duties, and now living in an empty house where the memories are too loud and the silence is deafening, Cato shed his identity.

Wanting to find his daughter and those who hurt him, he dipped his toes into the criminal underworld, and shed his identity. Becoming nameless, apart from his alias 'Horus', became a hired gun, hoping to get information on how to find these people. Or run into them himself.
