Her parents were devout members of an enigmatic cult who gave everything, including their children, for their belief system. Elise was born under a different name she has yet to be informed of, but the cult called her their lamb, Mary. Her sole duty was bloodletting, as in she was pampered and doted upon for giving her purifying blood to the cause. She was prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice at any time in order to satisfy her "family."

The day she was planned to die was scheduled, and it would be to purify and redeem someone she didn't even know. It was a comforting thought to her at the time, but once liberated from her inhumane duty by law enforcement, she was at a loss.

Now in foster care, she's been re-educated on the value of her life and what a religious order should and should not do with its members.
