Nuli is incredibly sweet but also incredibly dumb. They like to take care of flowers like they're sentient. They sing them songs and tell them stories despite the fact they cannot speak. They do not appear to be aware of this, since they try time and time again to befriend the many enemies in the Queen’s Gardens.

When they crawled out of the Abyss, Nuli fell from a great height onto their shell and lost their mind in the process. They can barely register speech and cannot communicate effectively with anyone. The crack on their shell leaks a little bit of void every day. Each day as void is lost, they become more and more numb. Because they never learned how to use Soul, they cannot get their void back, and are doomed to waste away like their siblings. Nuli knows this. They are completely aware that as each day fades, so do they. They combat this truth by seeking a friend who will collect flowers with them until the day they are nothing more than a shell comes.

They reside in the Queen’s Gardens and tend to the flowers as best as they can.

Because of their traumatic head injury, they are very dumb. They cannot learn more than how to walk and cannot process basic speech. They do know, however, how to be nice and make friends. And by make friends I mean avoid getting killed by the hostile residents of the Queen’s Gardens. They attempt to repair the crack on their head by placing a sturdy, healthy leaf atop it. Although this does not heal their would, it deters the void from sliding out of their shell faster than it normally would. This gives them more time to find a friend.

They are aware that the final bit of their mind and body are slipping through their mask. They feel themselves become more numb and weaker, but cannot process that they are dying, only that they are fading.

They find a grave.

They cannot read what it says.

They lie next to it.

They place a shrapnel of flower petals atop the stone.

They feel more and more of themself leaving.

They are not afraid. They cannot feel fear. They do not know such a feeling. They have never known such a feeling.

They lean their head back, and soak in the soft silence.

They feel their mask split apart. They decide to count the flowers they have collected.
