Despite how nice he can be to his friends, he often comes off as unapproachable or like he has somewhat deceptive nature. He likes to be helpful and gives anyone who needs it a hand, but it can be insincere or come with a price.

He tends to be combative, and every so often, he catches himself and apologizes for his behavior. He's defensive, aggressive (which he deems to be assertive), and if he doesn't have control of his situation, he'd rather not be in it at all. He's very forgiving if you give him something he wants, whether it be a physical thing, a behavior, or otherwise.

Joaquim is very protective of the friendships he maintains, and is very begrudging toward people who hurt them (or him). The easiest way to change his perspective is through his closest relationships.

He's hotheaded and brash, and often needs to be held back from physical altercation. He has some issues controlling his anger.

When he makes a bad impression, it takes a lot to make him put in an effort to change it, even if they just got off on the wrong foot.

He projects sometimes.

He's a lil skeptical of women at times. He's either skittish or abrasive.

October 14th

He barely graduated high school. He was going to drop out, but his mom and dad talked him out of it. It was more like his mom told him not to drop out, he said he was gonna do it anyway, then his dad suggested that he didn't.

His parents are both immigrants, having moved to the United States as children wtih their parents, and they grew up very close together in a tight knit community.

They married young and moved out together, set on starting a family together, which they did once they had Joaquim.

A few years down the line, things began to fall apart. Their marriage was on a catastrophic decline due to some poor decision making and money handling on his dad's part. They started arguing and resented each other enough for it that they slept in different rooms, most often dad in the living room and mom in the bedroom.

Joaquim was aware of the state of his parents' relationship and has always blamed his mom for it due to her hard headedness and an innate belief that she's always right. His dad has neither confirmed nor denied anything, and that's still their current state. In recent years, they've finally settled their divorce. Waiting for Joaquim to grow up may have been bad for them.
