Vita was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Tala Graves. She never knew who her father was. As a baby, she was adopted by her grandparents who felt that her mother wasn't fit to raise her. Throughout most of Vita's childhood, she barely saw her mother. She became close friends with her classmate Micah in elementary school and would continue to be friends until both of their deaths. When Vita was twelve, her neighbor's house caught on fire. She was standing too close to the burning house and a section of it struck her in the back. Ever since the accident, Vita gained an odd fascination with fire. When she was fifteen, she set a garbage can on her school's campus on fire. On November 1, 2007, Vita went missing while returning home from Micah's house and hasn't been seen since.
