Dark, muted blue. Yes it is natural. In the time period the story takes place in, its normal for people to have slightly off colored hair (not things like bright green or pastel pink, but things like black-ish purple and grey tinted colors).

Two low pigtails on the side of her head, 3/4 of her bangs are swept to her left side, and the remaining 1/4 is swept to the right.

She has a very contagious smile and laugh, quick learner, walks and stands with her hands behind her back or on her sides, is almost constantly smiling, dances to non existent music, hums and sings all the time, literally doesn’t shut up and will keep talking to you even if you’re drowning.

Return to her family and change things so that it's better for her brothers and sisters.

She’s a bit naive and gullible and has a very childish nature. Fern can be annoying at times because of how childish she acts. She’s often too optimistic and doesn’t really understand what’s going on around her even though she’s old enough and has had experience with it. She’s also over emotional and sensitive.

Fern isn’t one to really hate anything normally, she sees beauty in everything, even the ones who threw her and her friends out of the city.

Shes really good at gardening and growing plants, She can talk to animals (that's part of her power), can make others smile easily, seeing the beauty in everything.

Flower picking, coloring, gardening, just being a sweetheart.

Bubbly, happy-go-lucky, and just along for the ride lmao. She’s childish to an extent and a bit gullible sometimes so this can cause her to be easily taken advantage of. She can actually get kind of annoying if you’re around her a lot or if you’ve just met her, but once you get past the annoying bit she’s really a sweetheart.

A bit of ADHD.
This causes her to have a really short attention span (which causes a lot of problems for the group). She also has a hard time sitting still and going to sleep quickly.

She’s an inactive for the majority of the story. Then later when her powers unleash she figures out she can talk with animals and basically control them.

Believes in some type of higher being(s)/force but isn’t sure what it is exactly.

She doesn't really pay attention to any politics, it doesn't interest her. But she doesn't like some of the rules, mainly the one that got her kicked out of the city.

Does being an older sister to 4 younger siblings count?

Forrest - though she sometimes gets angry at him and annoyed by him, Forrest is probably one of Ferns best friends. Their relationship is purely innocent, but they often tease and make fun of each other. She actually kind of loves Forrest, but doesn’t understand it.
Ivy - Ivy is like a big sister to fern. She sees ivy as someone who’s big and strong and admires her for that.
Rain - Fern loves learning things from rain! She kind of annoys him but he lets her follow him around anyways.
Kai - she loves kai’s jokes and so she instantly became friends with him.

Average education.

She grew up in a slightly poor home, her mother and father both struggled to find jobs due to their low magic levels, which made it hard for them to make money. She has about 4 other siblings, all younger than her, so it was hard for her parents to give their undivided attention to her while trying to take care of her siblings and work their jobs. Fern understood though and was never angry at her parents. She helped take care of her siblings growing up so she never had time for many friends or fun activities. Her parents always taught her to love and appreciate every single thing that she gets because they never would know if it is would be the last time they ever get/see/hear/feel (or whatever) that thing. So that’s how she grew up, loving and appreciating everything. When the day came for her magic to be unleashed, she was taken away because she was an ‘inactive’ which was devastating to her parents and siblings.

She has a bunch of birds that hang around her garden that she considers her pets.
