Maille has a very educated way of speaking, using large words but always in correct context. You will only very rarely hear her raise her voice, but her quiet can be frightening.
Maille moves gracefully and with purpose. Almost predatory and catlike.

Truth. Maille will stop at nothing to get answers, to know the reality of a situation. Particularly frustrating since the one answer she wants the most remains out of her reach still.

Maille is very intelligent, but the way she conveys it usually comes across as arrogance. She is not good at imparting her knowledge without making people feel inferior.
She also has a very cynical and sarcastic outlook on life. Usually this isn't much of a problem, but at certain times it can be very annoying.
Maille also can be a bit bossy. Her suggestions often come out more as orders.

Potions/concoctions/cooking: Maille is very good at following and making recipes. She is an excellent cook with an eye for detail and how to blend various ingredients into a cohesive whole. Asher has always said she would probably make a good chemist, but Maille is more interested in the artistic side of things.

Research: Maille is incredibly efficient at finding the information she needs, and from reliable sources. Nothing makes her happier than following leads through a library and piecing the big picture together.

Reading: Every night Maille settles in with a good book. She doesn't care what genre, as long as it is about a topic that peaks her interest.
Divination: Maille is very good at divination of most sorts. Tarot, runes, crystal balls, Maille plays with it all. And she's gotten frighteningly accurate.
Cooking: Maille enjoys bringing various ingredients together to make something new. Maille isn't nearly as good at cooking as she is at potions though.

Maille is not just intelligent, she is also experienced enough to use that knowledge appropriately and realize when it doesn't apply to a situation. Maille is wise.
Maille is pretty much the mother of the group. Keeping everyone rested and healed, and generally making sure everyone is doing well.
Maille is a bit of a neat freak. She is very good at organizing everything and keeping life neat and tidy for her friends. She is able to quickly break down the situation they find themselves in and keep track of their options and ideas.

Maille has amnesia about the event that killed her father.

Maille practices Pagan/Druidic. She worships several of the Celtic Gods and Goddesses.

Maille has a Masters degree in Chemistry.

Maille was born the youngest of three children to an interesting set of parents. On one side she had her Muslim mother, and her mother's devoutly Muslim family members. Her father on the other hand, was staunchly atheist, from a devoutly Celtic Pagan family. Both of her parents were liberal enough in their beliefs to truly fall in love and get along, but their families avoided one another if at all possible. Maille was very close to her father and her father's side of the family. She and her father would often go hiking and camping on weekends, enjoying each other's company in the beauty of nature. One such trip changed her life forever.

When Maille was seven years old she and her father went on a typical camping trip for the weekend. They left Friday night after school, and would be coming back Sunday afternoon. But they never did. Search parties were out on the trail by Monday afternoon. It didn't take long to find the abandoned campsite. All of the belongings were sitting in the tent, untouched. By Tuesday morning searchers had found David Hawken's body half submerged in a small stream. He had died a violent death, mauled by something, his face still frozen in fear. But there was no sign of little Maille, and very little hope to ever find her now. Searches dwindled as the week went on, but one small team located a hidden cave five days after Maille had gone missing. Inside they found the little girl huddled in the back of the cave in complete shock. She was covered from head to toe in dried blood.

At the hospital more odd discoveries were made. Maille didn't have a single wound on her, not even a minor scratch. And yet, all of the blood was hers. One nurse also confronted Maille's mother for allowing so young a child to have a snake tattooed over her entire arm, only to have the confused mother reveal that Maille had not had that tattoo before leaving for the camping trip. Maille also was barely speaking, and it was found that she did not remember the camping trip at all. Her memories were missing from leaving the house to being found in the cave. Maille's mother tried hard to keep her grieving family together over the next year, but eventually it became clear that Maille was not recovering mentally from her ordeal, and was especially not getting along with her Muslim grandparents who were helping to watch the children. Maille was also beginning to display disturbing "abilities". Most would call them magical, but her grandparents were convinced she was demon possessed. Maille suspected they were correct, but resented them nonetheless.

So her mother made the difficult decision to send Maille away to be raised by her paternal grandparents in Glasgow, Scotland. While Maille loved her grandparents, it took her years to recognize that her mother had made the right decision and had not abandoned her. Her grandparents were practitioners of magic themselves and began helping her harness her new unnatural abilities. For the next several years Maille threw herself into education and learning, especially of occult subjects. This eventually led her to investigate a suspected Vampire society in London, and that was how she met her future husband, Asher Merle.

Maille currently still desires to find out what happened that horrible night of camping with her father. But her memories remain stubbornly locked. And the voice in her head refuses to be helpful.
