Graduated high school with honors. Has one year of general classes in a community college before she had graduated again, has not yet returned to her classes or another round of post-secondary education.

-had her mum and dad when she was small, apparently had been born in Ireland

-parents were teenagers and still in highschool; they had been fairly put through the wringer by their parents for having a child at that age

-eventually her mother had gone off the rails, found herself another and much older man, cheated on her father; one very long and complex situation later, Rowena wound up in the care of her mother still due to the fact that paternal courts still deemed her as a proper caregiver, somehow

-remembers vague parts of her childhood: her mom’s various boyfriends that came in and out of her life, mainly. Cringes at times thinking about how she used to think that at least one of them had been her father, no idea how that thought popped into her little head at the time, but she would genuinely get excited anytime a male friend of her mother’s or a boyfriend who stayed a little longer than a year and was kind to her, thinking that they might just be her dad.

-not sure why but she had badly wanted a dad back then, missed him a lot. Never met her biological father

-mom wasn’t that attentive to Rowena when she was as toddler. She’d be talking on her phone or to her friends, let her roam around the park without keeping an eye on her for long periods of time.

-Rowena Jones went missing at 8 years old.

-It hadn’t been a man asking about his missing dog that got the girl. She remembers that it had been another girl that looked a tad older than her, maybe thirteen, who had walked over and started talking to Row. She wasn’t out of place in all of the other kids running around the park, and police would later figure that was why her mother never suspected anything during the time she had glanced up last, approximately 20 minutes before Row’s disappearance, then continued her conversation with an old high school friend.

-the girl had asked Row if she wanted to play a game of tag. Row, not thinking anything of it, not even assuming that it was mildly strange an older girl would want to play with her, accepted the game. They had played tag for a little while, running around and shrieking - or at least, Row was running around and shrieking. She remembers that the girl had been oddly quiet and simply chased her.

-the last thing Row remembers about that day was racing behind the large trunk of a maple tree, the thirteen year old being too slow to ‘chase’ her, thinking that she was winning the game, and then rough hands snatching her up.
