he was schooled by a girl who lived around the corner from him so he didn't have to stay home with his abusive father but also didn't have to go to school and get beat up by bullies

he was brought up by his mother and a girl named Celeste. when he would come home he would be calm at first and then he would start to get aggravated if Josh's grades were less than A+. Celeste would grade everything as A+ or A- and let Josh give that to his dad and then she would actually grade his papers and let his mom read them. But she didn't let her keep them in case the dad found them. the dad would do random checks in his wife's things to make sure she wasn't trying to run away. his father was a wealthy businessman, but would often spend the money on booze, cigarettes and sometimes women. they only managed to pay mortgage and power bc he would pay that. he would give his wife a small cut to go and buy food with. But she would go out and work herself to the bone doing random jobs to make enough money to get the amount of food they needed. She was also pregnant but couldn't afford to go to the doctor as much as she needed other than a few visits that her husband paid for bc to him his wife wasn't a person, she was an offspring machine. He also bought many things in his wife's name and ran her into debt. then he would go and pay on the debt to make him look like the good guy. the only "safe" hours were during 8am to 4 pm. That was during his work hours. he was a lawyer and would sometimes work overtime. The only thing he cared about was his work and alcohol. But anyway, as josh grew up, he hated his father for being selfish and greedy. he made a vow at 11 that he would never turn out like his father.
