Tabitha is very goal-oriented, and will let nothing stand in her way as she advances. She was offered a scholarship to the Academy and took it without hesitation since it was her only way to get off of Kauff's streets. Tabitha has a very dry personality, often making snide observations and comments in her head. She's persistent, clever, cunning, stubborn, petty, and does not forgive easily. She holds grudges and does not relinquish them often, if it all. She's quite closed-off and is easily irritated, finding attempts at help or even friendship as a distraction and something with an ulterior motive. She's very bright, and finds it easy to grasp new topics that are thrown her way. She's one of the cleverest students at the Academy. Very introverted, she spends most of her free time alone or with only one or two others. Not one for conversation. Despite her claims of being above it all, she's ultimately manipulated into murder by the Director, who uses Tabitha's deep-seated yet fiercely guarded desire to find someone like her against her.

Stands very still, tends to cock a single eyebrow when her curiosity is piqued or when she feels incredulous.

Thievery, stealth, can "read" the history of items she picks up. Has a knack for memorization.

Whatever gets her ahead. In fact, if pressed to choose a political position, she would likely lean towards anarchism, but the government offered her a way out and so she joined up.

Tabitha's parents died when she was young, and she grew up on the fly in the gutters and the streets of Kauff, a smog-laden industrial planet in the center of the Thetan System. She was a thief for many years, exploring different parts of the sprawling city and occasionally using her powers to gain extra cash from readings. When she was seventeen, a government official stumbled upon one of her (highly illegal) readings, and she drew her knives and knocked the official out in seconds. Two more approached her, and took her into custody. They offered her a scholarship to the Academy, but refused to explain why to her. Seizing her opportunity for a better life, she agreed to go, and was shipped off soon after.

Literate and could do basic math before being sent to the Academy, where she learned much more.
