Overview
Caddisian Technovirus
A Talexi-designed, Tesserian-tested, Caddisian-co-opted secret weapon, the technovirus is a serum imbued with nanites that, when introduced to a host body, work rapidly to retool the host's DNA into a new form.
DNA-altering nanotech
Technovirus, Nanovirus
Causes
The technovirus must be introduced specifically into a host's body in order to take hold and work its DNA-mutating magic.
Although referred to as a virus, the technovirus is non-organic in nature and is only able to be administered, rather than caught via the air or transmitted from host to host.
Effects
The effects of the technovirus are wild and unpredictable, based more or less on different species of creature upon which it is inflicted. The DNA of some beings—Skyren, for example—is compatible with the virus in a way that causes their bodies to be able to produce flame, which is in turn controlled and regulated by the assimilated nanobots. Other beings' DNA is simply incompatible with the nanotechnology which causes the nanobots to break it down, killing them in the process. Others still see no effects whatsoever. This and everything in between are possibilities.
History
Although now associated primarily with the Caddisians, the nanovirus was the result of a collaboration between the Caddisians and the Talexi, prior to the destruction of Talexia.
