A consumption condition caused by Jioni's influence.

Anyone other than The Forgotten can succumb to it by not having evolved to withstand it.
The proximity to the The Undercurrent
Those who are religious and strong believers in their faith often can't be swayed by dark whispers.
Jioni sends his tendrils out through smoke and shadow hoping to latch onto a stray negative thought or whisper.
The affected part can be removed, severing the connection to Jioni. Alternatively, the person can be dragged to a temple or to someone who has access to purification magic.
Effects
The body part will begin to mutate and/or glow unnaturally, seemingly having a sort of local infection. Often large dark veins can be seen protruding from the skin.
It warps their thoughts into the most pessimistic and negative versions of themselves. Any sensitivity, insecurity, or concern gets magnified to a hysterical magnitude.
Irritability, volatile moods, twitching, violent tendencies.
Until the individual is healed or they die.
It will eventually kill whoever is corrupted by it.
