The female spider got a vulva that the male spider can insert their penis into. This is quite the dance for the two. The male usually approches the female carefully, checking her mood to see if it's worth approaching her. If she's in a bad mood, the male might hang back, keeping in the background until she's in a better mood. Presents such as food might be offered to lighten her mood and impress her to increase their chances of impregnating her and leaving again alive.
