Quite plump, with a thick, fat tail and flat body.
Varieties range in length from 50cm to 1.5m.
This lizard livestock species was bred to bear bountiful succulent meat. It's slow and sluggish, living in cool underground pens.
They bred for their meat. In addition, their eggs can be eaten. Its scales may also be removed and used in crafts.
