A Blue Flaming Goblin that snatches your belongings while you're in a portal

The original goblin race disappeared some-time around 2000 years ago. The leading theory is that the goblin race accidentally stumbled upon the secrets of portal technology. Since goblins tend to hide away and hoard whatever valuables they can get their hands upon the goblins used this technology to steal away massive amounts of wealth and treasure. Eventually, the goblins disappeared from the face of the earth the fabric of their reality interwoven with that of the portal-plane.
