Overview
Squerian
Tall with some equestrian features but mostly reptilian.
Herbivore
Looks
Shades of green
Humps on the head and fins on the spine
Relatively large, tell
Two large cranial crests and equestrian legs.
Tough cartilage and bone from the cranial crests, skeleton, reptilian scales made of keratin, fins made of tissue, hooves, small amounts of wispy fur on the legs, under the tail, and around the hooves.
Traits
Usually not aggressive, but there is violent competition during mating season.
If under attack, they buck and kick wildly. When intentionally fighting, they swing their necks against each other, like giraffes.
They travel in herds, and so they run away when attacked. If an individual is attacked, they are prone to kicking and buck until the threat has been shaken off.
55mph

bright green color is a disadvantage in winter when most green plants die. They have no guaranteed way of defending themselves.
Large, hoarse lurching sounds.
Cranial crests are a sign of wealth and success. The fins can't be used for much but wealthy women often enjoy using them in decoration. They have a remarkably thick femur in the rear legs which are occasionally used by people of the coast, who are often poor or self-sustaining, as oars.
Habitat
Lightly wooded areas next to plains or open clearings in forests.
Accept a wide range of plants as food, depending on habitat.
They don't migrate seasonally but will move and adapt if forced to.
They have competitions among the males for who will reproduce.
They are born and raised in herds. They usually stay with the herd they are born into but occasionally are forced to abandon it or are one of few survivors after a disaster. On this occasion they have been known to bribe their way into existing herds or even start their own.
