Overview
Milontomykite (Murmuring mushroom ring)
A ring of normal looking mushrooms that can speak. They speak in the language of the listener and may speak to different people in different languages simultaneously.
Animal (mimics fungi)
Looks
May come in any color that a mushroom comes in, depends on the species.
The shape visible above ground is a ring of mushrooms. The shape underground is unknown.
Above ground is a 14-16 foot ring (4-8 meter)
Mushrooms are usually 5-6 inches tall (12-15 cm)
Unknown
The tissue that has been collected from these muttering mushrooms is nothing like fungus tissue, though it also differs greatly from any known family of animal known to man. It seems that the mushroom tissue is most biologically similar to... human teeth...
Milontomykite's seem to be made of a strange, hard, bony material. Upon closer inspection, they seem to produce a strange odor. Almost like halitosis
Traits
Unknown, although disappearances and instances of insanity are often linked to these muttering rings.
The individual mushrooms seem to be filled with some type of toxin. Scientists are still trying to figure out what it is though. Their murmuring speech also seems to be a method of attack, with many people admitted to psychiatric wards due to speaking to a Milontomykite.
There has been no recorded reaction to physical harm to these mushrooms except the fact that they stop muttering.
Milontomykites do not move to our knowledge. There have been very many instances where they disappear though.
Other than their murmuring, there have been reports of earthquakes near Milontomykites where there have been no recorded earthquakes. Some people believe the mushroom rings cause them, but scientists seem not to believe that.
The Milontomykites seem to know when there is a human near, as they will immediately call them over.
Habitat
Recorded worldwide, except in Antarctica.
Unknown
None
Vultures have been spotted around the rings, though they never seem to come near them enough to eat the mushrooms.
Comparisons
The most genetically related species are Homo Sapiens.
Distinct cultures around the world seem to believe Milontomykites are either omens of death or omens of new life. Many seem to honor them as gods in and of themselves.
Reproduction
All reproductive biology is unknown.
No recorded instances of death, though there are very many instances of disappearance.
Classification
Chordate
Mammalia
Primate
Hominidae
Homo
Unknown
Hundreds of variations across the globe.
Notes
I am very scared of mushrooms.
