Overview
Ground Spider
Ground spiders are found commonly through out the Spread. They eat insects and small vertebrates. They are often eaten by tribes of the Spread. Sometimes kept as pets by the people of the cities.
A group of large, hairy, ground arachnids.
Looks
Often brown.
Eight legs, two body sections; cepholathorax and abdomen.
Most directors are about the size off a human hand. Some are bigger and some smaller.
Traits
Aggressive towards smaller prey animals. Not aggressive towards larger animals unless threatened.
Ambush, fangs deliver a venomous bite.
Venomous bite. Makes a clicking noise when agitated as a warning. A spider will build fake nests, making them more difficult for predators to find.
Moderate.
Clicking noise.
The ground spiders are eaten by the tribes of the Spread, usually roasted. The silk that they make their homes from is collected and used.
Habitat
Grasslands. Sheltered under tall grass, not out in the open.
Insects and small betrayed that live on the Spread.
Do not migrate.
Reproduce at the end of hot dry season.
Do not herd.
