Grief Wraith
A monster that consumes and fuels itself on the joy and light from a person.

When balled up and compact, the average Grief Wraith is roughly the size of a small grapefruit, with older/larger ones naturally being bigger.
The largest ever recorded Grief Wraith, when compacted, was the size of a watermelon.
As a ghost-like creature made of pain and suffering, they lack weight
-Spindly fingers that wrap themselves around a vicum's face and throat
It is a spirit made of pure negativity.
Traits
As their existence leaves them in constant agony, they are extremely territorial.
-Consumes the joy and light in a person's mind until it drives them to kill themselves
-Larger Greif Wraiths can fire their own bodies at weaker ones and force them to absorb it, inflicting a greater pain of existence and driving them away.
Large enough Greif Wraiths can tank the additional suffering until it can overpower the original and take its prey for itself.
Once they latch onto a food source, they are remarkably difficult to remove
Habitat
Places with lots of temperamental humans, like high schools
Reproduction
When a human dies sad, miserable, and/or unloved, their broken hearts have the potential to transform them after death into a Grief Wraith. The initial size of the newborn Grief Wraith is transitive to how much misery was in their heart.
They are also born when a large and old enough Greif Wraith dies from the strain of its existence, spawning two or more smaller ones from its corpse.
