Overview
Hellgrammite
Hellgrammites were created from dobsonfly larva. They no longer go through metamorphosis into a adult dobsonflies. They grow to a meter long and are able to reproduce in their larval forms.
Other modifications necessary to obtain their large size are complete gut, closed circulatory system modeled on that of cephalopods and internal gills that gill pouches have replaced the spiracles, trachea, and gill tufts.

Looks
They come in shades of red, brown, gray and black.
They have long worm-like with a flattened head capsule, possessing a set large pincers and short antennae. The thorax is rounded and has three sets of jointed legs. The abdomen is longest part of the body and is dorsal-ventrally flattened. Eight pairs of gills filaments run along the side of the abdomen. The last segment of the abdomen is flat and wide forming a paddle that function as a flipper. The greater surface area of the rounded flipper allows for sharp turns and quick starts.
