Traits

Aggressiveness

Aquatic wyverns are incredibly territorial, and will fight any creature that comes near their lair. However, when hunting, they are docile and will only fight as a method of retaliation.

Method of attack

In the water, aquatic wyverns prefer to attack via biting, while their teeth are not as sharp as an ordinary wyvern, they are plentiful, as aquatic wyverns possess rows of teeth, similar to a shark.
On land, or when surrounded in the water, they use their breath attack of omitting lightning

Methods of defense

Aquatic wyverns charge their scales with electricity when they sleep, which is discharged upon contact with them

Maximum speed

In the air and land, aquatic wyverns are very slow and clunky, however, when diving they can reach speeds of up to 70 km/h

Strengths

An aquatic wyvern's sense of sight and hearing are above average, and the best of all aquatic creatures under water.

Weaknesses

The aquatic wyvern possesses little to no sense of smell. Their underbellies are very soft, and can be pierced with little effort. If tricked into flying, their doom is almost always certain, as many of their vital organs are large enough to be hit through their underbelly.

Sounds

Hissing

Spoils

Their electricity organ is a valuable ingredient for alchemists. An aquatic wyvern swallows their most valuable loot, and gold and jewels from ship wrecks can sometimes be found in their belly, or even amongst their teeth

Herding patterns

Aquatic wyverns prefer solitude, as they find their hunting gets very competitive

Reproduction

Reproduction

During breeding season, an aquatic wyvern will fly to a coast in hopes of meeting a mate. The males will clean their scales and encrust them with jewels such as sapphires. The females are attracted to the shiniest male, and once each has found a suitable partner, they mate. The female will then find a cliff overlooking the ocean, and lay her eggs there. She does not return. Eggs usually hatch after three months, and maturity takes approximately one year for the wyvern to achieve.
