Sheolean parasite

An almost tapeworm-like, foot-long creature that consumes kyei and hijacks the bodies of its victims.

Comparable to the pale yellow flesh of a white peach, with little orange stripes every half an inch.

Like a very long grub.

Averages around 1' in length and 3" in diameter, but can expand or shrink depending on how much room is in their victim.

26 retractable teeth lining the mouth.

Six soft "ribs" with a centimeter spacing between them in the middle of the body, like a worm's heart(s).

Soft and fleshy.

Hungry and hostile.

Using several rows of teeth like a leech's to inflict multiple small punctures and push toxic saliva and Blackblood Plague into a wound.

Once this is done, they will worm under the skin over the course of some hours (making oneself smaller takes time) and consume the contents of the victim's body cavities (respitory and digestive systems, most of the brain). See notes!

You can eat them if you boil them or otherwise thoroughly cook the flesh, and avoid the... you can eat the flesh, stay away from the organs.

Kyei (and the shit it's attached to)

If the victim possesses a kyei (soul), then the soul will be more or less kept from leaving the body by the worm(s) controlling it, forcing a now zombified human to watch the worm controlling them until they (the body and worms) are destroyed.

They can also feel everything happening to the body, as "ghost" sensations (like an amputee having a sore left wrist when he's missing his whole left arm).
