Ceprix

Description

The embodiment of hatred. The 4th Demon Lord Ceprix is known throughout the land.

He takes many forms, and different names are given to him but his motive is always the same. To empower the hateful by bestowing his monstrous blessings onto them. He is a god to those foolish enough to worship him, or to those insane enough to pray for his blessings.

Ceprix has no divine plan to which he seeks fulfilled on the mortal realm. He is a entity who views the material and all whom reside in it as toys to be twisted for his amusement. The blessings he gives and the rage he encourages in his followers are merely how he plays with those toys.

Domain

Dominion

Ceprix is the god of hatred, rage, and monsters. The loathing one feels for another are the emotions that Ceprix is associated with. Hatred is a powerful emotion that can change people for the worse if consumed by it. Ceprix feeds people's hatred until it has turned them into monsters driven by their blood thirsty rage.

Worshippers

Hatred is a emotional concept that is wide spread throughout most species and cultures. Thus Ceprix can easily find mortal followers, especially amongst the more monstrous races. A berserk minotaur may offer up all his kills to Ceprix to be gifted with greater strength or unique mutations. An rage filled dragon might take up the offer of greater power from the Gift-Giver. Monsters who accept the blessings of Ceprix instantly become greater dangerous than what most adventurers can handle.

Though more disturbingly are the humanoid followers of Ceprix. Ceprix will often empower individuals who carry great hate in their hearts, or he chooses people who he sees potential in. Individuals who only need to nurture their anger and let into fester. In this way a follower of Ceprix can greatly vary in contrast to another. In a large city Ceprix could have a small cult loyal to him of outcasts who resent the society that rejected them, while at the same time he could have a whole tribe praying for his blessings to empower their savage berserkers. It is not uncommon for tribal cultures to direct worship to Ceprix (whether knowingly or unknowingly).

Realm

Ceprix realm is in a portion of the Oblivion that is perpetually shrouded in a violent cosmic phenomenon known as the Rage Storm. The Rage Storm acts as a barrier that prevents most creatures from entering Ceprix realm, thus there is little knowledge of the layout of Ceprix's domain other than from small lore fragments. What is known is that Ceprix realm is called the Tortuous Donjon, a massive structure that floats at the center of the Rage Storm. It is both a labyrinth, a dungeon, and the palace of Ceprix all in one. Throughout the twisting corridors one will encounter cultist, demons, and other monsters that roam the passage ways of Tortuous. It is believed that Ceprix resides at the center of the Donjon where one can find his palace. Though few ever reach it without his help, as the further into Tortuous one goes the dangerous the monsters become. For Tortuous is not merely a realm inhabited by the monstrous minions of Ceprix. It is the location where every single monster created or blessed by Ceprix resides.

Appearance

Form

Locking down Ceprix true form is difficult as every time Ceprix has shown himself to anyone it has been in a different form. Though there are three which are seen more commonly than the others. The Gift-Giver, the Monster King, and the Lord of Malice.

The Gift-Giver is depicted as a large humanoid with bestial facial features (tusks, fangs, or monster eyes) covered by a gray cloak with three arms with variations with each depiction. This form is seen in temples where Ceprix is worship as a kind god whom generously bestows gifts of strength.

The Monster King is Ceprix's most hideous form. It exudes all of Ceprix's divine might. This form is depicted as man with the lower half of a snake and the tail of a scorpion. The upper half has four arms each ending with sharp claws. The head is described as being that of a man mixed with a beast. Though a exact description is never recorded as its said his face is constantly shifts appearances. This form is the most well known of the 4th Demon Lord's. This form is the one that monsters typically worship as its seen as his most powerful (as far as they know).

The most intimidating of Ceprix's forms is The Lord of Malice. There are few depictions of this form, but all records report a consistent depiction. A shadowy humanoid covered in a long leathery cape that stretches to the floor, with the clawed hands of a monster and two great horns atop his head. His face resembles a pale corpse with green eyes that irradiate with hatred. The instances where Ceprix has used this form are rare, not many of his followers even know this form exists. Its understood that Ceprix only appears in this form when he speaks to someone as an equal. Individuals who cannot be tricked by his offers or intimidated by his presence. In this way its believed this is Ceprix diplomat form.

Origin Myth

During the Age of Discord there was strive and war everywhere. Powers struggled to exert their claim on the world. All of which led to a great deal of animosity amongst the mortal races. As time went on this animosity turned into a overwhelming sense of hatred that drove people to commit atrocities to their hated enemies. This collective hatred, as well as the souls of the dying and suffering had an effect on the Oblivion. Eventually leading to the manifestation of Ceprix.

History

What most refer to as the 4th War of Ascendancy is in actuality a series of conflicts that occurred during the years 2286 to 2289 which involved or were caused by Ceprix. Instead of being emerging onto the material like many of his predecessors did, Ceprix remained in the Oblivion where he empowered mortals with malice in their hearts and slowly twist them into abominations. These conflicts only came to an end when the god of war, Romriterus, attacked Ceprix's realm thus forcing the Demon Lord to retreat into his realm and put a pause to his scheming. Since than the number of followers Ceprix has obtain has grown. The 4th Ascendancy War put on full display what power the Monster King could offer them. Those who desired that kind of power were drawn to worship him. Cults grew in size and number which elevated Ceprix to the position of godhood he enjoys today.

Ceprix has an unsteady relationship with the Demon Lord Norzar. While both of them share similar goals they do not agree on everything. Norzar desires the destruction of civilization and a return to the savage wilds. While Ceprix only cares about sewing hatred amongst the mortals and creating monsters. Though whenever the two Demons Lords interests do align they become a fearsome duo.

Goals

Ceprix seeks to nurture the seeds of hatred in mortal souls so they blossom into monstrosities. To assume himself with the chaos that ensues with his monstruous creations.

Power

Abilities

Ceprix has the unique ability to shift into different forms. He can easily assume the guise of a person, beast, or even monsters. Though near perfect, his form usually comes with a telltale separates him from the real thing. Some deviation from the typical standard appearance of the creature he shifts into. Such as quills or scales where there shouldn't be any. Than there are his eyes which never change no matter what form he takes.

Aside from his ability to warp his own flesh he can also warp the flesh of others. If one allows it he can easily transform a normal human into a snarling monstrosity that bares no semblance to their former life. Though its harder to warp the flesh of those who resist the change, and its almost impossible if the creature isn't on the same plane as Ceprix.

Ceprix is almost a formidable fighter. Using claws, stingers, hooves, and other natural weapons to rend his foes into ribbons of carnage.

Influence

The 4th Demon Lord can influence the world in many ways. He can whisper directly into the minds of mortals who harbor even the slightest bit of hatred. These whispers become more intense based on how much hate one has in their heart.

In places where his influence reigns he is capable of warping the fauna of the area. Animals are the first to experience changes as they become more aggressive and develop mutations such as multiple limbs or strange adaptations that would not be normally seen (acid spit in cows or fangs in deer). Even plants become warped by Ceprix influence. An area will continue to be warped until it naturally develops a portal to Tortuous (the Tortuous Donjon) which allows for some Ceprix's most dangerous minions to leave his realm and enter ours.
