Overview
Carpet Moss
A colorful, moss-like plant native to Daeji, often used as bedding.
Jhifae
Appearance
Most commonly blues, purples, pinks, and teals, but it can also be found in various pastels and dark grayish shades.
Can grow to cover vast amounts of area, like a large blanket on the ground. It cannot grow on exposed rock or infertile soil, so it often ends before reaching mountainous areas.
Grass-like, but a bit sweeter. When wet, it has a much stronger smell.
Mostly flavorless, it has a mild taste of sweet, juicy grass.
Produce
N/A
Since carpet moss isn't entirely attached to the ground, it can easily be cut and used as blankets, curtains, or decor. It will last awhile before it begins to desaturate and harden, and it can then be put back outside to decompose.
Also, it's just really fun to step on the crunchy hard moss.
Technically none, but Daejiin seem to be comforted by using blankets, so they're often kept around the house.
Some varieties grow small, brightly-colored berries. They are resilient enough to not break when stepped on, and are very tart with a pomegranate-like flavor.
N/A
Dust from the soft "fuzz" serves as seeds.
ecosystem
The wind blows the excess fuzz off the moss and into new areas where it can grow into new carpets.
Warm areas, mostly Tabigat and Marathi. The darker, duller variations are found in Lymbo.
