Power Structure

Most of the power goes to the queen or king that was chosen heir by the previous leader. This is because they do not want outsiders of the royal family to be able to overpower the government because they don't have any experience with the country.

Next in power is the king/queen's husband/wife. In the Aradian Code of Law, it states that the first pick of a wife or husband should be from one of the Aradian population, but in the case of the people being ineligible, they may marry a foreigner.

Next are the commanders and trusted people to the king/queen. Even though they are high up the power hierarchy, they still have very limited power, and any big decision they want to fulfill has to be approved by the king/queen and the royal family.

The Grand Prince/Princess has some power because they are eventually going to be rulers of the Aradian Kingdom.

Next are the other princes and princesses, then the nobles and other wealthy people, then the average person.

Power Source

It mainly comes from their influence on the rest of the world. The world sees them as an idol country because everyone is happy, and the country is prosperous. They have an average military and the country is wealthy and prosperous.

Checks And Balances

The Aradian Code of Law states that the people are given the power to overpower the government if their leader is mistreating the country. The Aradian Code of Law also states that their must be at least two advisors to the king/queen, and two military commanders for the military so that the leader of Aradian can have the most power, yet keep their bias low.

Jobs

The Government provides infrastructure jobs like road & sidewalk paving, electrical management, energy distribution, and water cleaning. The Government also provides domestic jobs in the palace, such as being the palace gardener, palace stable-person, and being one of the maids, cooks, or butlers. A harder job to obtain is the job of a liyamon/liyamona, meaning a person who is like an appointed friend or chaperone to a prince or princess. This person helps the prince/princess and keeps them company.

Laws

Laws

The Law of the Land, called the Aradian Code of Law, is the most important document in Aradian. Aradian is supposed to be held in accordance with this law, and only this law.

The Aradian Code of Law was created shortly after the creation of the Aradian nation. The law, written by Zacharius Night, was supposed to bring success to his descendants who were going to rule.

There are 5 divisions of the Aradian Code of Law. Each division gives laws relating to the below categories.

  1. Civilian/Civil Law
Civil Law explains the laws that have to do with people. The law says that the King or Queen should always take any action for the best of the people and the kingdom. It also explains how the people should interact with each other, and how to handle legal disputes and issues.

  2. Freedom Law
This law explains the rights of the people and the freedoms and privileges they have by the Law.

  3. Royalty Law
This law explains the royal succession and how the royals should act. It also explains how to deal with royal family disputes and such.

  4. Economic Law
Basically, this law talks about money and how money should be managed by the government. It also explains how to manage assets, money, and food during any type of scarcity.

  5. Criminal Law
This law explains how to handle criminal offenses and how to give punishments that are fair to both the victim(s) and the person who committed the crime.

Process

Electoral Process

Since it's a monarchy, there isn't an actual electoral process. The next ruler is chosen by the fact they're the eldest, or they're more eligible to rule.

Term Lengths

The ruler-ships of a king or queen lasts until they die or step down to allow their heir to reign while they can still watch. In the case of bad leadership, their throne-ship can be taken away by other government officers or by the people themselves.

Criminal System

According to the law, any criminal should be put to prison in exactly the worth of their crime. If it's a small crime, like not parking in your designated area, you will be fined, but repeated offenses result in jail time.

Approval Ratings

Most people don't have issues with the royal family because of how kind the Queen and King are. The Queen is especially liked by the people, and is seen as the reason for Aradian's success.

International Relations

Aradian is peaceful with other countries, and hasn't gotten into a war yet. Aradian has strong ties with Shyghaan, Aundring, and Arme because of trading.

Civilian Life

Civilians have a good life. There are many readily available jobs and Aradian grows a lot of food that may be given to people who need it. There are many government helping systems, like babysitters.

Military

Aradian has a moderately sized military, mainly because Aradian doesn't get into war. But in the case a country does attack them, they still have the military.

The military is split by male and female because they receive different training due to their different body types. However, both genders still receive the same pay and treatment.

The female soldiers are given black and green uniforms. They are a two piece set with tough fitted pants and enchanted breastplates and torso coverings. They also are given tools based on their separate talents. For example, a person who can wield weapons better than they can wield magic is given physical weapons.

The male soldiers are given green uniforms with the same armor type. They also receive weapons based on their better talents. However, this doesn't mean they aren't trained in both magic and physical fighting. They are still required to be skilled in both types of fighting in the case they lose their weapon or don't have any Mana with them.

History

Founding Story

Aradian was founded by Zacharius Night and his wife Rosara Night. They wanted to find a safe place for the tribe they led because they were different from everyone else. This turned out to be the rare phenomena of the race of the "Raceless" people. They found a land, populated and built it from scratch, and made a name for themselves.

Flag Design Story

The blue stripe means peace, the purple stripe means wealth, and the black stripe means power. The six stars represent the six Aradian Cities, and the moon represents the moon Boniyr. Boniyr represents peace, love, prosperity, and intelligence.

Notable Wars

The Affair was an incident that happened many generations ago that brought a shame to the royal family and caused fights within the country.

In Imaginis, the event that a ruler has affairs is a taboo, and in the case it does happen the people will not trust them at all. This is because their loyalty to their relationships is meant to reflect their loyalty to the people.

King Kaale Dialofa was married to Her Majesty, the Queen Violetia Aritan. They had two children named Maviziel and Ximena. They seemed like a happy and drama-free family to everyone else, but it was just an act, a mask the family had to put on everyday.

Kaale was abusing Her Majesty and neglecting their children. He was cheating on Violetia with her best friend, who also happened to be the maid. After all this was let out by some insiders in the castle---the most notable being Maerra Korra--- Kaale's world came crashing down. Violetia was able to divorce him because she had a reason to, and he was exposed for being an overall distasteful and horrible Imaginian. Kaale, his mistress Timia, and his illegitimate child that he had with Timia moved away, so his son Maviziel was raised to be heir.

This sparked many controversies in the kingdom, many conspiring that the situation wasn't real, many out for the blood of King Kaale. The event was serious enough that there was civilian violence against others because of their opinion on the drama. Some innocent people died because of this. It hurt the Aradians deeply; it had never happened before.

Maviziel was a good man, and stopped the violence from getting too serious. It didn't end up being a war, but I thought to include it because it was the biggest situation in Aradian history.

Magic

Magic Rules

If you use magic, it has to be with accordance to the law. This of course means you cannot hurt people with magic, you can't damage property with magic, you cannot manipulate things you're not supposed to with your magic. Magic is mainly used for magic schools and for small things like maybe lighting your campfire pit or manipulating water to water your plants.

Views on Magic

Magic is a natural thing; it's always been here before us and it will always be here. Magic is here, so we can use it. However, this doesn't mean we can wield Magic in whatever way we want. There are rules to follow.
