La Vie en Rose does not target the poor and downtrodden. In fact, they ensure many of the homeless in the neighborhoods they patrol get food and clothing. The only violence they commit is against rivals and other gang members. The public is off limits and collateral damage is un-excusable.

La Vie en Rose almost acts as a democracy, taking votes among their leadership in order to decide the direction of the gang. However, the final call still comes to their current president and the rest have learned to fall in line or get left behind. More than one rose has found the pavement far less forgiving than the garden of their peers.

La Vie en Rose has a history of finding those with the talent for thievery or silver tongued sales pitches. As such, they require two things from their potential new recruits: A personal item from a corporate wageslave and the convincing of three current members to vote for you in front of Sparrow.

La Vie en Rose has always been mostly a sorority with over 85% of their entire membership being female. This tradition was only broken recently and done very rarely since the precedent was set. Beyond that, tradition dictates that any member gets a rose tattoo immediately.

Money is power and La Vie en Rose is looking to expand their power base greatly. They are happy to exchange goods of a less than legal nature and ensure that their members continue to see a steady stream of cred.

La Vie en Rose started as a project to feed the poor in the neighborhood and quickly grew to requiring violence to hold its territory. Their goals have always been to support their community, making friends with those above their station to scare off predators and ensure the safety of its members and their beneficiaries.

Less armed than most, La Vie en Rose lacks the raw strength to stand up to more violence gangs, but deep enough pockets to hire those who do. Beyond the streets, theft and possession of stolen goods is still a major crime for the NOPD to fight against.

Reaching so quickly above their station may lead to a hostile takeover, or make them far too visible and paint a target upon their backs. Still, at this point they have no choice but to grow or dissolve.
