Tribes of the Spread
Stone age hunter gather's that live on the plains called the Spread. There are a handful of different tribes.
The culture of the Spread is a nomadic/semi-nomadic, stone age, hunter/gather culture. That being said, there are usually between four and seven different tribes living on the spread. Each with their own specific subcultures.
They have specific ranges that they travel across through the year. At certain times of the year their paths with will intentional cross with other tribes, this allows for the exchange of goods and people. The people of the spread are similar too, but different from the other nomadic, stone age, hunter/gatherers that live near them. To north are the fisher people of the North Lakes. To southeast are the herds men of the grass plains, which is cooler and wetter than the Spread. To the north, between the lakes and the mountains are tribes of horse men.
The culture of the Spread is a nomadic/semi-nomadic, stone age, hunter/gather culture. That being said, there are usually between four and seven different tribes living on the spread. There were originally five tribes that originally inhabited the Spread. Five founding tribes are formed; Zeebo tribe, Zzyzx tribe, Carver tribe, Nikto Tribe tribe, and Klaatu tribe. Two are still in existence. There are currently six. They are the Zzyzx Tribe, Nikto Tribe, the Leng Tribe, Khan Tribe, Barada and the Mome Tribe. Each with their own specific subcultures.

Purpose
To live lives of their own choosing in an environment free of technology more advanced than the stone age.
Happiness and self of fullment.
Weather, terrain, and wildlife.
Living in wild has many risks. Wild animals attacks and exposure to the weather and environment can cause injury or death. Though bio-engineering and the rescue from arcologies mediate many of these risks.
Politics
Notes
The people of the Spread of found of making and flying kites.
Technology
All humans have been bioengineered to one degree or another. The people of Terra 47 have the same basic augmentation most of humanity has.
They have the same 'human fixes' that all humans were given after genetic engineering became common place. These fixes include:
* Any lost or damaged teeth will replace themselves.
Their bodies are much more resistant to damage than an unaugmented human. This includes skin, muscle, bones, and organs.
There metabolisms have been altered to allow them to go lower without food or water.
They have complete voluntary control of their reproductive systems.
BioTech specific to Terra 47
Specifically the people of Terra 47 are able to digest a larger range of foods than most humans. They can digest tough plant material because their bodies produce enzymes necessary to breakdown cellulose. And there are able to eat raw or spoiled meats.
The first people to colonize the Spread were originally from diverse ethnic backgrounds. But were all modified to have dark red skin to protect them the harsh grasslands sun. There eyes were also engineered to to be darker.
Men and women are the same size and have same muscle mass. There metabolism are more similar to the of males, in that they store less fat and make more muscle.
Physical or material technology is limited to stone age materials. This limitation is a self imposed lifestyle choice.
Body Paint- The people of the Spread often use body paint on special occasions or as a form of expression. Pigments in a wife range of color can be found in the environment.
Bow and Arrow- Bow and arrows are often used for hunting. They traditionally use long bows made from a single piece of wood. They have knowledge and abilities to craft more complex and powerful bows but find it unnecessary for their purposes.
Ceramics- The ceramics made on the Spread of glazed and unglazed earthenware. The people of the Spread often use the fired clay pots to hold soap and fermented beverages they produce.
Soap- The soap is made from rendered fats and wood ash from specific trees and is usually in the form of thick paste.
Fermentation- Fermented beverages are made from a combination of fruit mash, water, and various herbs and spices. Sometimes ground grains are added as well. The mash is allowed to sit for until it begins to bubble, it then run through a filter to separate the drink from the pieces of fruit and grain. The alcohol content is usually low.
While the tribes of the Spread restrict themselves to stone age physical technology they make use a great deal with digital technology provided to them from the arcologies and satellites.
Instantaneous communication and media systems are facilitated by bionic lenses installed their bodies shortly after birth at the nearest arcology. These provide a continual augmented reality display. This allows them to talk, see, or communicate anyone on the planet at anytime. They also have access to datasphere through which they can access all information accumulated by modern society.
