Overview
Drake Cannon
A massive firearm meant for taking on wyverns and dragons alike.
Heavy Bowgun (more like an actual gun)
Looks
Bolt-action, despite the flintlock lever in front. It's more for aesthetic than anything, and the bolt pulls back the bow. The bow hits the firing cap of the bullet, which starts the reaction. This is a very traditional design, but firearms are still called bowguns despite their more modern mechanics.
The Drake Cannon can fold in half, whereupon bullets can be reloaded in the breach. The bolt not only pulls the string back but it also reloads another bullet into the barrel.
Desert wyvern bone, scales, and muscle, along with steel mechanics and bronze accents.
~100 lbs
A handle on the butt helps for carrying while drawn, and there's another handle on the top just past the bolt system. These handles prevent the cannon from being fired at the shoulder, it has to be fired at the hip. Hunters prefer this method of shooting because it allows them to quickly aim and not worry about taking too long while a monster is moving around. In turn, however, they need to train so that the gun doesn't fly out of their hands every time they shoot.
There are dark steel parts, namely the interior mechanics and the overlays. Bronze highlights and rivets accentuate it, along with red bands made from cured wyvern muscle.
The gun is double-barreled, and the bow arms fold inward for storage.
