Overview
Soul Cage
Accessory
A pure iron cage forged in a forge lined with clay harvested from Kur/Irkalla. A pale recreation of a particular pendant that holds the ability to trap the souls.
Looks
The soul cage is made of pure iron that has been made in a forge lined with clay harvested from the Sumerian/Babylonian underworld Kur/Irkalla. They come in two sizes, a "portable" version and a "stationary" one. Ancient invocations of cuneiform are etched into the bars of the cages.
The "portable" soul cage looks like a decorative oblong bird cage with a flat bottom, the bottom opens out. This version is explicitly called "Soul Cage" by Bel.
The "stationary" soul cage is affixed to the ground and are oblong that come to points at the end. These versions are called "Spear Cages".
1.4 lbs
Abilities
By virtue of the age of their method, the soul cages have the ability to trap the souls of nearly anything in creation. Once trapped, the owner can use the abilities of the trapped souls as their own.
The "portable" version can only hold in one soul at a time, but if used in conjunction with a Compendium, the soul cage can swap between any souls recorded within it. To use, simply swing the cage as if ringing a bell. To capture, ensure the cage is empty before tossing the open cage at the target. To swap souls out, jerk the cage to drop the bottom out, releasing the soul, and jerk up to snap it closed.
The "stationary" soul cages are much larger and affixed below ground at an angle as if emerging from the ground; they measure five feet above ground. Placing souls in the "stationary" cages allows for fusion of the souls to occur; more accurately the manipulation of the affected souls into new form and ability. At minimum, two souls are required, and at most six. The user runs electricity through the cages to undergo the fusion process.
History
The Soul Cage is worn on her right side attached to a clip.
