This mountain range is what divides the hospitable side of Menagerie from the remaining desert area, creating a large rain shadow on the leeward side that is likely the cause of the desertification. But the seaward side is home to dense foliage and wildlife leading up to the very top, with the highest peak—called Datuk by the locals—being one of the only areas where snow appears on the island.

The mountain range typically runs a length of 340 miles (or roughly 550 kilometers) across the island of Menagerie, with a width of of 52 miles (or roughly 85 kilometers). Its highest peak is over 9,700 ft. in height, with remaining mountains that surrounding it being slightly less dramatic, averaging between 5,000 and 7,000 ft.
