The Third Realm is most densely populated with Avians.

The land is divided into many small kingdoms, which each belong to different groups. Each is ruled by what could be considered a royal family. Persephone is one such leader. Many times, leadership is not passed from parent to child but instead passed from one ruler to a capable person. Overall, the main leaders, including Queen Kore, her predecessors, and her descendants, rule most kingdoms from Aviris.

Avians that are born in the human realm are taken from the Third Realm, like John Laurens. Avians speak a language that is unlike any human language, made with click-like sounds and other sounds a bird-like creature might make. They also have 'weird' names, like Persephone or names along the lines of 'Spitfire' or 'Hyacinth'.
