About twelve years before the big war with Sector 1, Frontier and its surrounds went to war with Sector 1 who tried to aggressively take them over via genocide. They suffered heavy losses but won the war so were the most prepared to fight Sector 1 in the big war
It has always been the main city for Killjoys even very soon after The Vanishing and the collapse of society, people who didnt like the way things were going in Sector 1 which touted itself to be the political centre for the nation fled across the strait and began settling around there because of fresh water and resources. It always had an unofficial sheriff, a lawman to keep some level of peace but after SandSerpent fought in the war with Sector 1 the people elected him as official lawman
