They sailed for 9 weeks before they came to the shores of California and then trekked for 3 hours to reach the Sonoma Valley where they found Lupa, the she-wolf, hopelessly trapped in a fox trap laid out by hunters. They freed her and so she took them to a near where the Caldecott Tunnels are now, enchanted it, and told them to start a new city for others like them. She gave them her word that she would lead other Roman demigods there and train them the basics of surival but they would have to teach them the rest.
During the Second Giant War, Polybotes and his army laid siege on New Rome. They attacked the camp in order to kill off the Roman demigods. Another war occurred between Camp Jupiter and Camp Half Blood during the Civil War. They fought and almost obliterated each other. For that reason they were kept apart for over a hundred years.
