Overview
Team Tourmaline (Organization)
Organization
Team Tourmaline is an organization which is primarily located in the Akala region of Alola, specifically in the urban areas of Konikoni City. Created as a safe haven for Pokémon who felt themselves misfits or runaways from their own groups, Trainers, or whatnot, it’s grown to harbor all shapes and sizes of ‘mon from across the globe, even going so far to hold members even from the mountainous region of Sinnoh. Despite its infamy, many more sophisticated Pokémon (and even more humans) think it a joke for only the foolish and the weak.

“Multicolored like gems!”
After the decision was made for the motto, Sprint told Redwhisker that he would regret proposing it in three years when he “finally [got] out of [his] kid stage.” She was right, he does regret it now and think it’s a stupid motto, but it’s not like he’s going to admit that to anyone.
There are no real laws or rules, other than to have common sense and to abide by your morals. If someone does something the admins don’t like, then they’ll all talk about it together and decide what they’ll do. But there will probably be some butting in by the lower members as well, as most meetings of that sort are public and the hierarchy isn’t very well enforced.
- Sparring: Practice battles crop up all the time in Team Tourmaline, most of which involve Redwhisker against someone else. There’s even a clearing in the forested parts of the group’s base that was created specifically for it.
- Battle Royales: Since the Battle Royal Dome is so close to Konikoni City, parties of three or four often travel there to take part in a Battle Royale. However, since they don’t have any one Trainer to command them, these teams usually fail to win any matches unless they bring another Pokémon to coach them.
- 4-4-All Battling: Since Battle Royale teams are hard to organize, instead, for the most part, four-Pokémon free-for-alls are hosted in the sparring clearing to replicate Alola’s battling specialty in a smaller setting. Four Pokémon battle it out, and as soon as three are down and out, the remaining mon is declared the winner. These battles function much like practice matches in that no Pokémon is allowed to use excessive force on purpose to prevent anyone from getting hurt.

Team Tourmaline has been involved in no wars, though they do actively try to seek out Pokémon wronged by the Aether Foundation, Team Skull, and the Armor Corporation and protect them. They have previously gone on missions to rescue known characters from these groups in places of harm.
