Culture
The majority of the population in the mountains are human, with a small portion of that population being dragonborn.
The law is weak in this part of Bosh, few officers are stationed up in the mountains. Thus the majority of civil matters are handled by the people, that is as long as a civil issue does not catch the attention of the local sovereigns.
Settlement
Geography
A lush land covered in grass, fauna, and small forests. Many farms can be found scattered throughout the area, with people toiling the rich earth to raise fields of crops to feed the many mouths of the kingdom.
Because there are so many farms, glutenous monsters like the hills giants, and ogres wil raid these farms. Stealing both loot, food, and people.
The most common crops grown in the mountains are typically leafy, or root based plants. Farmers in this region will mostly grow spinach, lettuce, potatoes, turnips, and corn, which happens to be the most abundant crop.
Located on the western border of Bosh, separating the kingdom from its neighboring nation.
This mountain range experiences a higher level of humidity then the surrounding lands, though due to the constant flow of heavy winds the area always feels colder than areas inside the valley.
History
For centuries the mountains had remained the territory of the Rock Born dwarf clan. Until they had disappeared somewhere around the year 1883 which was the last recorded sighting of them. It was only around in 1885 when it was clear the dwarves had disappeared that the kingdom had made a claim on the land.
The people who came to settle on the mountain realized the mountain soil was rich with nutrients good for farming. So all across the mountain range farms began cropping up. Soon the settlement [[Town-23986]] would be established in 1909 to centralize trade in the area.
The area became the main provider for food across all of Bosh, a series of cable cars were set up in the mountains to help merchants traveling to and from to Timflim.
The mountain range knew peace for many years until in 1966 a destructive red dragon, [[Character-1295594]] , began a terrifying rampage across the mountain range that would become known as Garbull's Rage . During this period Garbull would destroy and plunder across the mountain range for months. His rampage only ending when a copper dragon named Vandune battled Garbull at the edge of a cliff. It was there that the two monsters clashed. Though whilst Vandune was older and bigger then Garbull he could not match his battle prowess. Thus he would perish in his fight with Garbull but not before spray his acid breath directly into the face of the red dragon leaving him permanently blinded. Though Vandune failed to kill Garbull he did succeed in ending his rampage as the now blinded red dragon retreated to heal his wound.
It took ten years for the area to recover from the events of the Garbull's Rage . Much of the resources Timflim had left went into repairing and bolstering the settlement that the area outside of town was neglected. Because of this Bosh doesn't have as much military or judicial control over the mountain range as they used to. Meaning there was a rise in monster encounters and criminal activity.
At some point in the late 20th century a large number of dragonborn belonging to Clan-Giok migrated to the mountains in order to hunt down and slay Garbull. While they have yet to succeed their presence in the area only increases with each passing year.
In the year 2003 a large gem deposit was found in the southern end of the mountain area. Shortly after its discovery the town of [[Town-23985]] would be established. Over the coming years Jules would become famous for the most valued gems in all of [[Continent-4161]]. Though with that fame came attention from Bosh's neighbor to the west, Kyrm. There were many spellcasters in Kyrm that relied on gemstones to fuel their most potent of spells. This meant that many delegates would visit Jules to obtain a steady supply of gemstones for their masters. Though it became quickly apparent just how desperate each of the delegates were to secure a supply line when acts of sabotage and assassination began to occur. It eventually got to a point where there were only two delegates left. One who was negotiating on behalf of Lich Ishbel and one whom was negotiating on behalf of Lich Horri. After deliberations it was decided that Jules would supply Lich Ishbel with gemstones as it was proven that the Lich Horri's deliberator was guilty of conspiracy and was turned away.
For many years the area has remained a staple of commerce, whether it be gemstones or agriculture being traded. Portions of land have been divided up to either become tree nurseries or protected lands.
