Overview
the Artist Black Market
open-air market, open every other week. but it's never in the same spot twice, very difficult to find.
open-air market, where Artists of every skillset go to sell their wares without the Repressors getting them. To get a spot or a stall in the market, you first have to find it; a difficult endeavor indeed.
Culture
mostly the native English, but some are foreign
about two hundred shops set up every Market Day, sometimes three hundred on a good day.
regular dollar bills, trading of items or services, bartering.
Can't Find Us, Can't Bust Us.
Never Stop Creating
dont be a dick. if you steal, whoever you stole from gets to choose your punishment. breaking the law of the Market means two warnings or minor punishments, after that you will be banned from the Market. If the Market is revealed to the Repressors, none of us know each other and the one responsible will be dealt the worst sentence we can come up with.
Geography
the Market moves to a different location every time it opens; usually a magically concealed spot in a crusty alley or a public park, or an abandoned building
History
Established in 1833 by Thatcher Alabaster
it's been revealed twice; each time, a battle was fought between the Artists and the authorities. the first time, back in 1879, the Artists beat the Repressors back long enough to escape and relocate. when the Market was betrayed in the second time, in 1912, the Repressors apprehended and tortured seven members of the Market. three of them snapped, giving up a few crumbs of information that allowed the government to track and shut down the Market temporarily. after that, they made it magically move, making it almost impossible to track or accidentally uncover.
