Werdans is a rocky world on the edge of GRU inner space. After the fall of the The Great Empire, Werdans lost contact with the rest of space and splintered into factions like many other planets in the period. Due to the considerably lower population, Werdans lost what little technological resource it had and fell into neolithic levels of knowledge.
During the rise of the GRU, the first explorers and colonists thought the planet to be uninhabited for several months before they encountered small groups of Canid and Felid foraging in the vast woodland areas far from the natural resources the GRU was interested in.
During the GRU-Atsalis conflict, Werdans became an important hub for military space traffic, leading to many advanced spaceports to be built. Fearing a potential invasion from the superior Atsalisians, vast military garrisons and airfields were constructed across the planet, turning the small mining colony into a massive military complex.
