The primal nature magic of the forests shaped them into their graceful elven forms. Millennia later bands of elves learned of city building from their cousin tribes, they forsook their primal past and built civilizations that revered nature in the form of beautifully crafted gardens instead of primal forest. Another band started delving underground there they found the hideous works of Varithma. While some went back to their kin and told the stories of the horrors they witnessed others were fascinated by the toxic and parasitic life Varithma created, these elves he changed into his perfect vision of nocturnal predators. They became the first Drow.
