Shroomfolk

Collections of spores that create and maintain ambulatory bodies. Each collection shares a consciousness and understands itself as a single individual. Closely related individuals form colonies that share a limited form of collective consciousness. Before the Terraforming Era, they were found in much greater numbers with greater variety.

Range widely, are often the color of dirt or loam on their original surface.

Fungus lights: concentrations of cells that glow
Hyphae: usually white, grows on surface of skin to protect heat- and light-sensitive interior layers

Varies from colony to colony. Before the Terraforming era, the shapes of individuals could be specialized and could be unique even within the colony. Modern Mycelonians in civilized society typically have a humanoid body plan, with eye, ear, and nose-analogues in human-ish places.
