Overview
Fair Folk
A group of immortal beings descended from a demon and an earth nymph. They are the more human passing version of the Fae in general.
Looks
The Fair Folk are usually slim and lanky. Their genetics make them smaller in size, but not in height. They are usually tall.
It ranges, it all depends on ancestors. A majority of Fair Folk usually have a darker, golden complexion. But they range in diversity.
Height ranges, but usually grown Fair Folk fall in between 5'6" to 6'3"
slim, usually falling between 100 to 140 for females. For males, it can range anywhere from 100-160.
The fair folk all possess one animal feature. Ex: Horns, feline eyes, wings, claws, webbed hands/feet, tails, paws. Horns and feline eyes are the most popular. They have pointed ears that sit close to their heads. Their hair is generally worn long both with males and females.
They all have human (ish, not counting their animal features) bodies, but they range greatly in physical diversity.
Nakedness is not uncommon with the Fair Folk, but when they dress they dress elegantly. Women mostly wear darker colored gowns, but also dress in finely tailored tunics and trousers. Men usually wear finely tailored tunics and trousers as well.
Traits
They possess earth magic, the ability to control the world around them. They are immortal. They are good at manipulation and any sort of trickery. They are generally feared, and humans were warned to stray from them. This helped their survival. They are immortal. All fair folk have healing magic as well. They have the power to weave glamours around themselves, their surroundings, or glamours to alter other people's realities.
Because of their animal features, it is hard for them to blend in with humans, so when they started to be hunted, it was easy for humans to find them. They have trouble conceiving children, so it's hard to repopulate once their race is nearly extinct. They cannot lie. They are weakened by iron and salt, and can often be sidetracked by shiny objects.
Immortal, trouble conciveing, and bearing children.
Culture
The Fair Folk, along with other types of Fae, indulge in revelries for almost everything. They take joy in tricking humans into joining them, then trapping them in the dances as they are ensnared by the music and magic and cannot stop dancing. There is Samhain, which almost every race participates in, but the Fae especially. They throw huge revelries and make offerings to the goddess Aiyana, goddess of creation and nature. They also celebrate Beltane, the same way as they do Samhain. Samhain is the celebration of spring as well as fertility, pregnancy, and new life. While Samhain represents a day where, supposedly, can cross over into the world.
They believe in the forces of nature, and that nature is to be respected at all costs. Though they are not the earth's protectors, they will find any way to help. They believe in the gods and goddesses, their main goddess being Aiyanna and Sequana.
Monarchy. They usually have a high queen and king to rule over the Fae. These people are usually fair folk.
the Fair Folk are usually in positions of power. If not high queen or king, a lady in waiting, a lord, or a council member. Other jobs still remain, however, such as weapon forgers, stable hands, blacksmiths, and healers, but most of these jobs can also be filled by other Fae.
They use the trading system, money is worthless to them unless they are living amongst humans (which few do.) They trade in material items, but also things like promises, secrets, and power.
Anything that has been grown from the earth. Fruit and vegetables. Nuts. They do not eat meat.
History
The founding of the first monarchy, under Queen Evalin Sunniva. They claimed a piece of land for their own, located outside of Sansora. The kingdom was built near a forest, and homes were scattered amongst it. There was no 'city' but homes located in the forest where things would be sold. There was a market every week where all Fae would come together to sell and trade.
When Adeline Winterbourne rose to power, long after the Fae Kingdom had been established, she ordered all fae executed. Most were, but the few who managed to escape were scatter amongst the winds and continents.
