Overview
blazefolk
elemental humanoids descended from wizards who have evolved to live in the nether
blazes
Looks
same as humans, because they don’t live in a world with the sun melanin doesn’t offer any sort of purpose or advantage tho
all blazefolk have hair made out of the same type of material. it resembles human hair but is chemically identical to blaze rods/powder and can be any texture. when their hair first grows it’s a pale yellowish blonde, but over time it will slowly turn dark red in a process similar to oxidization. they also float about 3-5 inches off the ground at all times. they can ground themselves or float higher than that if they want but it requires a bit of focus and energy
they usually wear light clothing bc it’s so hot, lots of red and black. they also wear light armor sometimes
Traits
being able to withstand literally being set on fire
don’t like cold, probably some human rights issues
Culture
they’re primarily atheistic without much trust in the gods due to the experiences of the sanguinites. common blazefolk put full trust in their wildfire but it’s not like they have much of a choice
their society operates more like swarming insects than any other humanoid society. common blazefolk have a sort of biological pull to fully obey their resident wildfire no matter what. the wildfire is a sort of alpha blaze born randomly to any set of parents in a community. more than one can exist at a time, which the resident wildfire deals with according to their own policies, or sometimes a community is left without a wildfire and will just operate based on the previous wildfires policies until another one is born. wildfires appear mostly like any other blaze but they’re significantly stronger and have a set of 3 horns
the nether as a whole is very technologically advanced, and the creature that acts as a computer in the gf! universe was actually discovered by a blaze biologist a few hundred years after the event
their society appears a bit like any other humanoid society when you ignore the weird bio authoritarianism thing. they’re talented as a whole when it comes to metalworking due to their ability to handle molten metal without any heat protection
their society’s are pretty self sufficient, but since the portals reopened many communities have been active in interdimensional trading
they’re big fungus guys
History
blazefolk are descended from the sanguinites i’ll probably make a separate religion page for them
